• Description

  Safineia - greek for 'clarity' - has certainly one of the bigger brains out there.
  When she was five, Safineia already knew how to read and write perfectly.
  When she was ten, Safineia already had finished junior high.
  By fifteen, Safineia was finishing her second degree.
  And now, being eighteen, Safineia already has a degree in Mathematics, Physics and History.
  She was featured in many magazines and shows. She was called the 'Ultimate Wizz Kid' - and it was only to be expected, with a mind such as hers. She can learn an entire 200 page book by heart in under 5 hours. She can learn to play an instrument perfectly within 10 hours. And yet, with such great, outstanding talent she pays a tremendous price, yet one she isn't even aware of.
  Safineia can't feel.
  If there was one thing Safineia wished to learn, it was emotions. She wished to understand why people cry, or laugh, or even smile; She wished to know why they suddenly jumped for joy or hugged for support. She wished to know why people could talk on and on and on about things that are actually completely unimportant to humankind and scientific progress. None of this made sense. Try as she might, she could never learn to act the same way; She never smiled, never cried, never felt anger nor grief. The most she can feel is satisfaction of studying a new book or learning a new instrument. Nothing stronger than that.
  
  Because of this, everything Safineia does is automatic and well thought-out: Even her dress code is practical with no useless decorations - plain jeans and a woolen golf for colder days, and a plain, dark cotton dress for warmer days.
  
  Maybe one day Safineia will find someone willing to show her exactly what are emotions and how she can feel them. But for now, it is just a wish waiting to come true.

• Biography

  Not much is known about Safineia.
  She was found by a nurse on the steps of the hospital. Since she herself couldn't keep her, she handed her over to the orphanage, where she was taken good care of. Growing up, even as a one year old, it was obvious Safineia's mind worked on higher levels than the kids around her - at three she was already correcting the caretakers in proper language, and could memorise long instructions word for word.
  Being continuously shocked by her amazing brain powers, she became something of a pet in the orphanage, with even older kids coming to her for help in work. But it was soon obvious she didn't have any compassion or understanding to pain or loss - no empathy at all. When one of the youynger kids fell and scraped his knee, instead of helping him up and saying it'll be okay, Safineia said plainly:
  "Make sure to disinfect the wound, since otherwise infection would come in. You ddin't break anything, so you can stand."
  And when a thirteen year old arrived at the orhanage after his parents died in a car crash, all Safineia said was:
  "Your room will be the last on the right. You will be sharing with one other boy."
  At first, the caretakers were horrified by her obvious lack of empathy, and hoped it will pass - soon it was obvious this lack of emotion won't pass at all, and the caretakers started feeling pity for her - pity she couldn't feel was directed to her nor did she care.
  THe day she turned eighteen, Safineia rented out a small flat from money she had saved up during her years at the orphanage, by collecting what the caretakers gave her and doing odd jobs here and there. Immediately she found a job and continued studying from the various books she found in the library.
